Social American Tournament, 8th May 2005
The first tournament of the season attracted 24 entrants (as luck would have it, 12 ladies and 12 gents) to what was an individual competition.
Each entrant was paired with a partner drawn from the hat to provide 12 pairs for mixed doubles.
Each pair then played 4 games against each other pair with the proviso that, after two games, the pairs would swap partners and play the other two games so that all four players had served once.
Individual games scores were kept and after three and a half hours play involving 66 matches on five courts (by which time everyone had either played with or against everyone else) Doris N emerged as the victor.
Second place went to Richard L and third to Ivor C.
