The Pox On It Tournament

This is a tournament organised in memory of Ray H for the
 Pox On It Trophy.

It is an all day tournament, held annually as a doubles event which can include Junior/Senior pairings. The event or the finals of the event is hosted at Goring Tennis Club. Some of the preliminary matches may be hosted at other local courts or clubs.

The format for the event is outlined below:

• The tournament starts at 10-00 a.m.
   
• A maximum of 32 pairs (Men’s, Ladies’ or Mixed) take part.
   
• Players from other local clubs are invited to enter.
   
• Entry fee is £15 per player.
   
• Four courts at Goring Tennis Club and up to four private or other local club courts are used.
   
• In the morning there are four pairs on each court playing first to 6 (tie-break at 5-5) against the three other pairs in the group.
   
• Everyone then gathers at Goring Tennis Club once the group matches are over at approx 1:00 p.m. for a BBQ lunch and the final stages in the afternoon.
   
• The eight group winners then contest knock out Quarter Finals, Semi-Finals and the Final on Goring Tennis Club courts.
